Identified in the Silvy daybooks as 'Rev. H. D. de Bussy and Mrs de Brisag and child' [the lady's name having been altered in ink from Bussy to Brisag], this is Henry Delacour de Brisay. According to the Clergy List of 1862, he was Curate of Barnes in Surrey. He was later the Vicar of Tettenhall in Staffordshire.
On 11 July 1854 in the parish of Barnes he married Jane Amelia Marret, daughter of Philip Marret of Jersey.
Mr and Mrs de Brisay appear on the 1861 census, living at Barnes Lodge at Barnes in Surrey, together with their two-year-old daughter, Jane, and their one-year-old son, Henry. Also present on the night of the census were four live-in servants.
Their daughter Jane Marguerite de Brisay was born at Barnes on 30 August 1858 (Morning Post, 2 Septembeer 1858). She never married.
Reverend de Brisay died at the age of 84 on 2 August 1916 at 11 Bardmore Road, Oxford. He left effects valued at £15,244. His wife, Jane Amelia de Brisay, died at the same address on 24 March 1904. Their daughter Jane died at 143 Banbury Road in Oxford on 6 October 1923. She left effects valued at £10,148.
