Born Jane Frances Alderson, her father was Samuel Hurry Alderson of Suffolk. She was baptised on 30 October 1828 at Little Welnetham in Suffolk. In 1859 she married Henry Gerard Hoare, seventh son of the Venerable Charles James Hoare, Archdeacon of Surry.

She appears on the 1871 census, living at Stanstead House, Godstone, near Reigate in Surrey, with her husband, their four children, and seven servants.

Mrs Jane Frances Hoare 'of Stansted House Godstone Surrey' died, aged 84, on 15 March 1913 at South Park Farm, Beltchingley, Surrey. She left an estate valued at £3397.
