Mrs Smith-Barry (of Leamington)

[The sitter is identified in the Silvy daybooks as 'Mrs Smith Barry (of Leamington).' This is almost certainly Mrs Elizabeth Smith-Barry, the widow of James Hugh Smith-Barry (1816-1856).]

Born Elizabeth Jacson, her father was Captain Shallcross Jacson. She married firstly James Hugh Smith-Barry, son of John Smith-Barry. Her first husband died in 1856, at the age of 40. She married secondly, on 26 January 1871, George Fleming Warren, 2nd Lord de Tabley.

Lady Elizabeth de Tabley died, aged 94, on 14 March 1915 at Berry Court in Bournemouth, leaving an estate valued at £10,628.
