Robert Keeley
(1793-1869)

A carte-de-visite portriat of the well-known actor Robert Keeley, who died aged 75 on 3 February 1869. His wife Mrs (Mary Anne) Keeley was also an actor; she died at the age of 93 in 1899. Their daughter Louise Keeley also enjoyed some success on the stage.

His death was announced in The Era on 7 February 1869. 'Robert Keeley has departed, at a good old age, and amid the respect of all who personally knew him, and the regret of all who liked to know that there still lived among us an artist whose exquisite humour so long delighted the lovers of the drama.
